Five people have been charged in Argentina in connection with Liam Payne‘s Oct. 16 death at the CasaSur hotel in Buenos Aires, authorities announced.
According to a Monday, Dec. 30 press release from Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office, the hotel’s manager, “GAM,” its receptionist, “ERG,” and Payne’s friend “RLN” — whom the BBC reports are Gilda Martin, Esteban Grassi and Roger Nores — have been charged with manslaughter after the One Direction alum had a fatal fall from the third floor of a hotel balcony at the age of 31.
Per the prosecutor’s office, “EDP,” a hotel employee, and “BNP,” a waiter — whom the BBC reports are Ezequiel Pereyra and Braian Paiz — have been charged with supplying drugs.
According to the prosecutor’s office statement, “EDP” is suspected of selling Payne cocaine on Oct. 15 and Oct. 16, while “BNP” is suspected of selling cocaine to him twice on Oct. 14.
