Firefighters from multiple communities battle blaze at old Fernald School in Waltham Boston 25 News [Video]

WALTHAM, Mass. — Firefighters from multiple communities are battling a blaze at old the Fernald School in Waltham.

Around 10:30 a.m., Cambridge Fire announced they are assisting the Waltham Fire Department with a third-alarm fire aqt the Fernald School on Trapelo Road.

The Fernald School was opened in 1888 and closed in 2014 when it was purchased by the City of Waltham.

It is not known if anyone was inside the building at the time and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
