Firefighters believe a livestock heating lamp may be to blame, no injuries were reported.
MIDDLETON, Idaho — Middleton-Star firefighters battled a significant structure fire early Thursday morning, preventing the blaze from spreading to an adjacent travel trailer.
Responding to an emergency call on Saturday, Jan. 25, fire crews arrived to find a double-wide mobile home fully engulfed in flames. According to the department, firefighters adopted a defensive strategy due to the extensive fire damage and the building’s unoccupied status, which was being used for storage.
Fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze. Preliminary reports suggest a livestock heating lamp may have been a contributing factor to the fire’s origin.
The incident highlights the potential fire risks associated with heating equipment in storage structures. No injuries were reported, and the quick response of firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to the nearby travel trailer.
