Findlay sobriety checkpoint announced Friday [Video]

The Ohio State Highway Patrol will work with other law enforcement agencies to combat impaired driving.

FINDLAY, Ohio — Law enforcement will conduct an OVI (operating vehicle impaired) checkpoint in Findlay Friday night, according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).

In the release, OSHP said they, along with crews from the Findlay Police Department, University of Findlay Police Department and Hancock County Sheriff’s Office would set up a checkpoint on Main Street in Findlay beginning at 8 p.m. It will last until midnight.

Together, they will work to combat impaired drivers and fatal crashes, OSHP said in the release. The agencies will also feature saturation patrols nearby.

“If you plant to consume alcohol, designate a driver or make other travel arrangements before you drink,” OSHP said. “Don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.”

The OVI checkpoint is funded by federal grants.
