LOUISVILLE, Ky. — There will be a change in leadership at Fern Creek Fire & EMS starting in August 2025.
Effective Aug. 1, Chief Nathan Mulvey will be retiring after 30 years of service to the area.
Assistant Chief Dewayne Hutchens said Mulvey not only sacrificed time away from family to protect the community, but was in charge of the merger of multiple fire districts and helped improve fire safety and community outreach.
“We are grateful for his unwavering commitment and exception leadership, which has left an indelible mark on our community,” Hutchens said.
