EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. — FEMA is currently in East St. Louis, assisting residents impacted by the storms and tornadoes that struck in mid-July. Officials are going door to door, checking on homeowners and renters for damage and recovery needs. Those with uninsured or underinsured losses are encouraged to apply for disaster assistance.
“We go to them in person to help register, since not everyone is tech-savvy,” said Robert McFee from FEMA. “This approach speeds up the process for those who may struggle with online applications.”
Residents can also apply through the FEMA mobile app.
