RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – While many families around the country are gearing up for Thanksgiving this week, there are many less fortunate ones who can’t afford to throw a Thanksgiving feast. That’s why Feeding South Dakota volunteers hosted its 14th Annual Thanksgiving Meal Distribution.
Hundreds of cars lined up at Central States Fairground as early as 7 p.m. Friday night to receive all the necessities to make their holiday feasts.
VP of Public Relations of Feeding South Dakota Stacey Andernacht said the turnout was greater than the two years prior, and the need for meals only continues to grow in the state with each passing year.
