CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Cincinnati FBI is seeking potential victim information after a Greater Cincinnati teacher was arrested and charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.
FOX19 NOW first discovered federal court documents filed against Mark Altherr, 44, on Tuesday.
An affidavit states that Altherr was part of an online “pedophile community” where around 100 members would post and exchange sexual materials involving children and minors.
During the FBI’s investigation, they noticed Altherr was not at his home on Friday. When they pinged his cell phone, they located him in Columbus. Agents eventually found him later that evening with a minor female in a hotel room, the affidavit said.
A parent, who wished to remain anonymous, said the allegations led to uncomfortable conversations with their child.
