Father of Maine woman murdered by ex-boyfriend continues push for electronic monitoring system [Video]

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) – The father of a Parkman woman murdered by her ex-boyfriend nearly a decade ago continues to push for an electronic monitoring system throughout the state.

Vance Ginn has been an advocate for a state-wide system that would use ankle bracelets to track inmates out on bail awaiting trial for domestic violence cases, or those released and on probation.

His daughter, Stephanie Ginn Gebo was killed by her ex-boyfriend in 2015.

Ginn recently saw a report we shared by our media partner, WMTW, about a Farmington woman scared for her and her child’s life.

She says she was advised by law enforcement and advocates to find a safe place and hide from her husband who was set to be released Wednesday morning.

Ginn says this is where a monitoring system could be used to protect them and he says he doesn’t understand why this isn’t in place …
