The fire occurred inside a tent where a man’s body was found, officials say.
BANGOR, Maine — The state fire marshal’s office is investigating a fatal tent fire in Bangor on Sunday.
Around 9:14 p.m. the fire marshal’s office responded to a fire at 49 Cleveland Street. The tent was occupied at the time by a man, who officials found deceased, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss said Monday in a press release.
The man’s body was taken to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy will be performed and an identification can be made, Moss said.
