Familys home damaged by South Nashville water main break [Video]

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A water main break continues to wreak havoc on a South Nashville family after Metro Water Services (MWS) reported the 24-inch break Friday.

MWS’ social media post said the main had been damaged by a contractor during the widening of Nolensville Pike on Friday, Aug. 30.

Miguel Pena said his mother and 9-month-old niece were inside at the time.

“It started with just minor water, and then it started getting heavier and heavier,” Pena said. “The whole garage will be gutted, the kitchen will be gutted, the living room will be gutted. It’s like a two to three month process, we’ve been told.”
