A bride and groom’s late decision to make their wedding child-free is a “slap in the face” for a suddenly uninvited 10-year-old daughter, according to her mother.
The mom outlined the emotional fallout and logistical challenges of the couple’s decision made this month, after a year of planning for the destination ceremony scheduled for April, in a lengthy Reddit post this week.
‘Absolute monsters’
The mom, as original poster (OP) the_wicked_soccermom, explained that her daughter had been actively involved in the wedding planning process for months. Family members had encouraged her excitement about the event, including participation in pre-wedding activities such as the bridal shower.
However, the bride and groom informed the family just two weeks before the OP’s post about their new and strict child-free policy. The couple said their decision was necessary to avoid issues with the groom’s younger relatives, described as “absolute monsters.”
