The European Union will impose a significant hike in import duties on Chinese-made electric vehicles at the start of November, with provisional tariffs reaching as high as 36 percent. These new tariffs have sparked fears of a trade war. In an interview with CGTN, Daniel Rabetti, assistant professor of accounting and finance at the National University of Singapore, emphasized that dialogue between the EU and China is the best solution for both markets, rather than resorting to tariffs.
