Expect strong thunderstorms in Wilcox County Saturday afternoon [Video]

A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Saturday at 2:07 p.m. for strong thunderstorms until 2:45 p.m. for Wilcox County.

Residents can be ready for wind gusts of up to 40 mph.

“At 2:07 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm 6 miles southeast of Camden, moving northeast at 30 mph,” according to the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.”

The weather service states, “If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.”
