Ex-FBI agent urges vigilance as suspect in Sonic murder makes Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list [Video]

SAN ANTONIO — A retired FBI special agent stressed the importance of heightened collaboration among the community and law enforcement as a Sonic murder suspect was just added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list. 

“Police will often collaborate with other law enforcement agencies including federal agencies like the FBI or the US Marshals, especially if there’s a fugitive in some cases that’s crossed state lines,” said Abel Pena, who served with the FBI as a special agent for 26 years. “That’s when the FBI will get involved. It’s called the Youth FAP Warrant (Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution. There they can get federal resources to assist in the investigation in the event she has fled the state.”
