Catherine, Princess of Wales, has revealed that she has now completed her chemotherapy treatment for cancer, and will begin to make more public engagements in coming months.

In a video posted to social media on Sept. 9, the former Kate Middleton shared a powerful message about her journey with cancer treatment. This comes after she had announced her cancer diagnosis earlier this year.

Kate describes the last nine months as “incredibly tough” for their family, and described her experience with cancer as “complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.”

Following an abdominal surgery in January, Kate shared a video in March, saying that she was in the “early stages” of undergoing preventative chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer. She has not revealed the type of cancer.

“At the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous,” she said in the video at the time. “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.”
