EUGENE, Ore. – In an attempt to open up another revenue stream for the 2023-2025 city budget, Eugene will begin adding a fee to passengers who use rideshare services like Uber and Lyft.
“Council adopted an ordinance establishing the ability to charge a per-trip fee in 2018. But the city did not implement that fee at that time,” said city manager Sarah Medary during an October 28 city meeting.
