A project almost a decade in the making is finally open to the public after the new Crescent Connector opened in Essex Junction.The new road connects Maple and Park streets by the five corners area.The community celebrated the completion of the Crescent Connector Project on Monday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.Before the project, drivers coming from Maple Street looking to get onto Park Street would have to go directly into the Five Corners just to make a left turn.Now, motorists just have to use the new crescent connector to avoid that area of traffic entirely.Cyclists are also benefitting from the project thanks to wider lanes going through Maple Street.”As we stand here today, the city of Essex Junction eagerly anticipates the positive impact that this new infrastructure will have on our daily lives,” said City Council President Raj Chawla at Monday’s ceremony. “Thank you once again to all have been …
