Law enforcement and the local community gathered to help raise money for a grieving family.
ECTOR COUNTY, Texas — In late November, three Buena Vista ISD students were tragically killed when they got into a car accident.
Weeks later, the local community put together a fundraiser to help benefit their mother, Heather Perkins.
The fundraiser was hosted by The Chuck Wagon Community Fund at the Ector County Coliseum and saw dozens of people within the community show up to lend their monetary donations and support.
Perkins is currently an employee with Ector County Sheriff’s office and has gotten the support of all of her colleagues within the force.
“Very few people in this whole world has ever experienced what her and her family is experiencing right now,” Ector County Sheriff Mike Griffis said. “The support is just is awesome, and they appreciate it so very much.”
