MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – What is the EcoCAR EV Challenge? It is the cutting edge of automotive engineering education, serving as a proving ground for future automotive engineers. The four-year competition challenges students to engineer a next-generation battery electric vehicle (BEV) that not only utilizes automation, but vehicle-to-everything connectivity with energy-efficient, customer-pleasing features AND meets the auto industry’s decarbonization needs.

For more than 35 years, engineering students have participated in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Vehicle Technology Competitions.
