Eastern Kentucky University joins Allegiant Air’s pilot pathway program | Education [Video]

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Eastern Kentucky University is partnering with Allegiant Air. 

EKU announced Monday it’s joining the airline’s Accelerate Pilot Pathway Program, which will expand opportunities for EKU’s students to launch their airline careers as part of the school’s existing aviation program.

“Our partnership with Allegiant Air is a significant milestone for EKU Aviation,” EKU President David McFaddin said in a news release. “Joining their Accelerate Pilot Pathway program expands opportunities for our students and demonstrates the competitiveness of our program nationwide. We are excited to offer our students a direct path to success in the airline industry.”

The university said once students enter their senior year, they can be hired as a cadet. Cadets would have Allegiant employee benefits, such as pass travel on flights and access to training centers.
