East Texas pastor family, friends reflect on his life after loss [Video]

TYLER, Texas — Community members are mourning the loss of an East Texas pastor who served in ministry and the community for over 30 years. 

Dr. Jerard R. Mosley Sr., pastor at North Star Missionary Baptist Church in Tyler, passed away at the age of 50 on Friday, Aug. 9, the Mosely family announced through a memorial card online. The card reads, “We loved you, but God loved you more. Till we meet again …” 

His son, Jerard Mosley Jr., said he now reminisces about a song he and his father wrote together just shortly before his passing Friday.

“We were just talking about life and everything, how life is so crazy, you never know what can happen,” Mosely Jr. said.
