SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Helpful, is a word that is part of the Scouts oath for the Boy Scouts of America.
It means volunteering to help to help others without expecting a reward. That’s exactly what one local scout has done.
17-year-old Evan Anderson was awarded his Eagle Scout badge Sunday and it’s in part thanks to the work that he did for the Veterans Community Project.
“They’re were really good at respond really fast and working with us really well. It was a really good partnership to get my Eagle Scout project done,” Evan said.
Evan spent time out in the tiny home village building benches for the veterans.
“Evan has been a pretty shy kid, so the scouts have been really good for him,” Andy Anderson said, Evan’s dad.
