DUBUQUE, Iowa (KCRG) – The Dubuque Kids Expo gave children an opportunity to have some fun while also providing parents with useful information.
“A lot of times you just don’t know what resources are out there. So coming to an event like this where you’re walking around and talking to community organizations that provide resources specifically for parents and families is incredible,” Executive Director of Dubuque Early Childhood said, Abby Degenhardt said.
Some of those resources included free services like oral health screenings and vaccines.
“Kids are coming up here, getting their shots or get their lead test or you know whatever they’re doing. Then they go down and have some fun downstairs and see all the services. I mean we’ve had multiple kids up here with balloons and necklaces, all the fun stuff,” Visiting Nurse Association nurse, Traci Sweeney, said.
