Driver cited for suspended license after pedestrian is killed in Bedford crash [Video]

A Billerica man was driving with a suspended license and using his phone when he fatally struck a Concord woman in a crosswalk Saturday afternoon, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.

The unnamed 34-year-old driver has been cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended license, using an electronic device use while operating a vehicle and a crosswalk violation, the district attorney’s office said in a press release Monday.

Bedford police officers responded to Concord Road for a report that a pedestrian had been hit by a car around 3:35 p.m. on July 20, the district attorney’s office said. Paramedics provided the 53-year-old victim with medical aid at the scene, but she was declared dead after being rushed to Lahey Hospital.
