DREAAM opens up community store to hand out supplies [Video]

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) –Even though the school year has already started for some, one Champaign-based non profit is making it their mission this weekend to make sure families are well-prepared.

DREAAM opened up their community store to give out extra supplies like backpacks and shoes.

Any student grades K-12 could take advantage to help start the year on the right foot.

A first look at the newly renovated Columbia School in Champaign

The organization’s CEO says he’s just doing his part to help.

“It makes me feel like I’m a part of a community, a part of a family here to support everyone,” Founder and CEO of DREAAM Tracy Dace said. “And it’s also important to feel and connect with people. And so it feels good to be here, to be able to support and greet and provide some resources that they may have.”
