“Downtown Louisville continues to thrive, experiencing significant momentum in 2024.”
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Dozens of new businesses and millions of dollars worth of investments funneled into downtown Louisville in 2024.
According to the Louisville Downtown Partnership (LDP), 43 new businesses opened in downtown this year, with another 16 slated to open in the new year. Several companies also relocated to the downtown-area.
“Downtown Louisville continues to thrive, experiencing significant momentum in 2024,” officials said Monday. “The growth in new street-level businesses, the relocation of corporate offices, and a strong pipeline of development projects showcase the continued optimism and confidence in Louisville’s urban core.”
“Events like the Kentucky Derby, PGA, and the NCAA Volleyball tournament increase pedestrian activity and visitor spending, centralized in Downtown Louisville, because that’s where the majority of our visitors are staying. Local restaurants, bars, and hotels all benefit,” LDP Executive Director Rebecca Fleischaker said in a statement.
