MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Leaders are opening up the conversation about Downtown Memphis with business owners and community members.
This comes during an effort to attract more people to the area as business owners say they are struggling.
The Downtown Memphis Commission (DMC) held its “Downtown Connect” forum on Monday, a day full of open conversations for business owners to share their concerns and for the DMC to share its solutions.
“We wanted to hear from the community, we want to hear what things we can do to improve their experience Downtown,” said Chandell Ryan, DMC president and CEO.
Customer flow, adding businesses to the area, and crime are topics business owners brought to the DMC.
“The people’s main concern is just their business not doing as well as they want it to,” said Memphis photographer D’Anglo Connell.
