A Dolly Parton and Kendra Scott collaboration was written in the stars.
The pair met in 2022 when the jewelry designer had the opportunity to go backstage at Parton’s concert in Austin, Texas.
“We just clicked,” Scott, who founded her eponymous brand in 2002, tells PEOPLE. “We just really got along great, and she had known about my jewelry, and here we are. The next thing I knew, we were like, ‘Let’s go into business together. What do you think?'”
Over Zoom, the country legend chimes in with her trademark twang: “And that was one of the best ideas that we’ve had in a long time.”
Marking the beginning of a multi-year collaboration, the collection celebrates the 50th anniversary of Parton’s song “Love Is Like a Butterfly,” which was released in 1974 — the same year Scott was born.
