MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – On Thursday, October 31 through Saturday, November 2, 2024, Mobile Fire-Rescue will host a “Dollars for Dumas’ fundraising event benefitting the Dumas Wesley Community Center. Mobile firefighters will be stationed across the city asking for donations to support the Center’s programs for underserved youth, low-income senior citizens and the homeless.
Mobile Fire-Rescue will be collecting donations from 10am to 4pm at the following locations:
• Walmart at Tillmans Corner
• Walmart on Schillinger
• Rouses on Old Shell Road
• Piggly Wiggly on University
• Walmart on I-65
For 121 years, the Dumas Wesley Community Center has been a fixture in the Mobile community, offering over a dozen programs and services including:
– After School Achievement Programs
– Summer Recreation for local youth
– The Sybil Smith Family Village transitional housing for homeless women and children
