Documenting damage after fierce Tioga County flooding [Video]

KNOXVILLE, TIOGA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The task of documenting flood damage is underway in flood-battered Tioga County.

10 teams of emergency services volunteers fanned out across the county documenting damage.

The damage assessments are crucial to get possible funding from Pennsylvania and Federal Emergency Management Agencies.

In the meantime, a state lawmaker is warning flood victims to be on the looking for potential scammers.

Road closures still in effect for North and Central Pennsylvania

“Just be mindful. There are a lot of people that are helping out right in your community. Look for those people that you can help, that are, like, right here. You know, don’t be sending things and money off to people that you don’t know. That can be a really dangerous thing. People utilize disasters and that’s shameful, and wrong on so many levels, so just be mindful of that,” said State Representative Clint Owlett.
