Digital Desk: City of Memphis to host 2024 City Hackathon [Video]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The City of Memphis will host the 2024 City Hackathon.

The event will be from Nov. 15 to 17 at the University of Memphis FedEx Institute of Technology.

There will be 36 hours to create and showcase innovative solutions to three civic concerns facing the City of Memphis.

1. Reducing blight in neighborhoods

2. Improving transportation for job access

3. Using new AI and Smart City technology

The event will also feature remarks from Mayor Paul Young.

Jessica Lotz, Executive Director of Innovate Memphis, and Meka Egwuekwe, Founder of Code Crew, stopped by the Digital Desk to talk more about the exciting event.
