Diaspora Youth Reconnect with Their Roots in the Parliament’s Building [Video]

“To be Hungarian is a value,” stated Lőrinc Nacsa, Secretary of State for National Policy, at the Advent diaspora program reception organized by the Rákóczi Association.

The politician emphasized the government’s commitment to Hungarian communities worldwide through schools, scout groups, and initiatives like the Sándor Körösi Csoma Program, strengthening Hungarian ties globally.

Mr. Nacsa recognized the difficulty of preserving identity abroad:

to be Hungarian is a value, but at the same time, it is both a difficult and a beautiful task to be Hungarian in a non-Hungarian environment.”

He noted that the Parliament’s building symbolizes a shared home for Hungarians worldwide. “The building’s grandeur and beauty also symbolize how great and strong the Hungarian nation is, to which we all belong.”

He expressed gratitude to the Rákóczi Association for creating opportunities for diaspora youth to experience Hungary firsthand. Encouraging participants to act as “little Hungarian ambassadors,” he urged them to share their experiences and cultural ties with home communities.
