Officials hope the initiative improves community engagement with local businesses and restaurants.

WESTFIELD, Ind. — People visiting downtown Westfield will soon be able to enjoy alcoholic beverages in outdoor public areas.

“We are excited that we’ve received DORA approval for downtown Westfield,” Mayor Scott Willis said in a statement. “This initiative will foster a sense of community downtown and showcase our local establishments. It’s a win-win for our residents and businesses by creating a unique outdoor experience.”

Officials hope the initiative improves community engagement with local businesses and restaurants.

The Westfield DORA will be implemented in January 2025. That implementation will include a marketing campaign to promote safe alcohol consumption, marked boundaries and designated permits.
