If you’ve existed as a human being on planet Earth in the last year, you’ve probably heard plenty about Taylor Swift and The Eras Tour, a record-smashing concert tour revisiting all of Swift’s albums spanning the last 17 years. At this year’s Grammy Awards, the tide of excitement rose further when Swift picked up her 13th Grammy and casually announced her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department. 

That 16-song album was released on April 19th…and two hours later, a surprise second half dropped and added an additional 15 tracks, causing the Swifties of the internet to lose their collective minds. 

TTPD, as the cool kids call it, is a lyrically dense album inspired by poetry, the highs and lows of navigating relationships, true crime, the perils of fame, the love of a football player, hyperbolic fatalism, and alien abductions—just your typical Top 40 pop fare.
