STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Attorney Andrea Morse, the Democratic nominee for Congress in New York’s 11th District held a press conference Thursday afternoon in the shadow of the Staten Island Supreme courthouse in St. George to announce the kickoff of her campaign.
Morse, 62, a mother of three from Randall Manor, took the opportunity to point out why she’s the better candidate, emphasizing the differences between herself and incumbent Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-Staten Island/South Brooklyn) who’s held the seat since 2021.
“I have dedicated my career to fighting against corruption on behalf of my clients, ensuring that justice prevails, and fairness is upheld. I am a proud mother, wife and lawyer. I am not a politician,” she said.
Morse said she never envisioned herself running for office, but believes there are too many issues facing the country for her to sit out.
