DemFest 2024 at the Nelson Heritage Center.
The Nelson community gathered at DemFest on Sept. 14 to connect with local Democrats, including candidates on the ballot in the Nov. 5 elections.
DemFest was organized by the Nelson County Democratic Committee and took place at the Nelson Heritage Center in Arrington.
The event was stacked speakers including Nelson County Board of Supervisors’ Central District member Ernie Reed, 5th Congressional District Democratic Candidate Gloria Witt, Virginia’s State 38th District Delegate Sam Rasoul, Virginia’s State 55th District Delegate Amy Laufer; Shannon Taylor, Democratic candidate for Attorney General of Virginia in 2025; and U.S Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., appeared at the event via video.
The crowd seemed to be in high spirits while discussing topics like the recent presidential debate, national issues and the candidates’ platforms.
