TULSA, Okla. — Delta Dental of Oklahoma Foundation, the philanthropic affiliate of Delta Dental of Oklahoma (DDOK), brought its portable Cavity prevention Clinic to Thomas Jefferson Elementary School.
A total of 84 second graders at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School received oral health education and brush kits, and 21 students received dental assessments, fluoride varnish and/or sealants at the Cavity prevention Clinic.
These services, valued at $7,020, were provided completely free of cost to the students and the school.
The DDOK Foundation’s Cavity Prevention Clinic is a community outreach initiative that provides fluoride treatment and sealants to Oklahoma students who otherwise might not be able to receive these critical dental services.
The free, preventative care provided at these at-school clinics helps eliminate the barriers to receiving vital oral health.
