DeKalb Police partners with DOJ for national public safety program [Video]

The DeKalb County Police Department hosted its first listening session at Rehoboth Baptist Church in Tucker, gathering law enforcement leaders and federal officials to discuss strategies for enhancing public safety.

The PSP program is designed to support local law enforcement by providing resources and expertise in areas such as crime analysis, technology, staffing, and training. DeKalb County joins 20 communities nationwide currently participating in the program, which has already demonstrated success in cities like Phoenix, where homicide clearance rates surged from 28% to 71% through PSP assistance.

“There are some agencies that federal partners come in and they’re ordered to be in there. We invited them into DeKalb County because we want to make sure we’re providing the best service possible,” Dekalb County Police Chief Mirtha Ramos said.
