The event was made to bring the community together.
DECATUR, Ala. — The Community Citywide Family Day happened in Decatur at Ingalls Harbor on Saturday, July 20th. The event was made to help bring everyone together and support one another.
Event organizer Adrianna Tapscott-Bridges says, “It’s to bring out the local businesses and organizations to come together is spread unity and love.” Tapscott-Bridges also says, “After so many events have occurred, we was like let’s just go ahead and do it so that the community know that we have each other’s back.”
The event comes after months of unrest in the community. Angela Curry, Executive Director of United Women of Colorsays, “There’s been so many tragedies that have happened in Decatur and over this past year and so we just thought it was very important for us to provide an event that allows us to have a good time.” Curry also says, “Community keeps community safe.
