WASHINGTON — The annual D.C. Bike Ride is Saturday, and with it comes road closures.
The event features Pedal for a Purpose, a way to raise funds for local nonprofit urban farm Dreaming Out Loud, which is dedicated to providing fresh produce to underserved areas in the nation’s capital, and has also donated 200 bikes to D.C. Public School students. If you’re planning on driving around the District this weekend, here’s what you need to know.
The 20 mile route starts on Constitution Avenue NW between 7th and 12th streets and ends on Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 4th and 6th streets, according to D.C. Bike Ride. Temporary intermittent road closures will begin Friday night at 6 p.m. and end by Saturday at 5 p.m., and D.C. Police and U.S. Park Police will enforce traffic pattern changes and moving violations.
