Many children will have gifts under the tree this year thanks to the generosity of the Erie community.
Saturday was the first of three days of gift distribution for families who signed up to participate in this years Toys for Tots.
There were long lines of people eagerly awaiting to pick up their presents.
Parents could pick up their gifts all day long at their center behind the Millcreek Mall. Over 8,000 children will be receiving gifts this year.
This event is something organizers and volunteers said they look forward to every year.
Families did have to sign up ahead to participate.
Distribution days continue Sunday and next Saturday.
