SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Dakota State’s Cyber Academy made the trip down to Sioux Falls and the CTE Academy, giving students hands-on experience in cybersecurity activities.
Those students got the chance to participate in five different interactive exercises, ranging from cybersecurity concepts and working with hardware and software.
The Cyber Academy is meant to show students what a career in cyber security looks like and help them grasp all the opportunities out there.
“When we think of cyber, sometimes we just have a very narrow understanding of that or not really have a clue of what’s being talked about. So, really, in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, on the networking side, whether students go into those careers or they’re going into any kind of career pathway, these concepts are really foundational to all of the careers they are going to pursue,” said DSU Governors Cyber Academy dean Fenecia Homan.
