CVS Pharmacy closing location in Auburn in February [Video]

CVS Pharmacy will shut down its Opelika Road store on Feb. 20, leaving Auburn with four locations, according to CVS Health’s corporate communications team. 

Kara Page, the manager of the corporate communications team, didn’t specify why the store at 1498 Opelika Road would close but listed various factors the company keeps in mind when considering a shutdown. 

“Maintaining access to pharmacy services in the communities we serve is an important factor we consider when making store closure decisions. Other factors include local market dynamics, population shifts, a community’s store density and ensuring there are other geographic access points to meet the needs of the community,” she said.

Page said all of the prescriptions will be transferred to the nearby CVS Pharmacy at 770 E. Glenn Ave. in Auburn to “ensure patients have uninterrupted access to pharmacy care.”
