The Cumberland County Vector Control office has collected its first sample of West Nile this year.
The report comes after the office was notified by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection about a positive mosquito sample for West Nile Virus that was collected at South Middleton Township Park.
It’s the first positive West Nile Virus sample in the county for 2024, according to a press release sent out Monday afternoon. Officials did not include when the positive sample was found.
