Crews respond to trash truck fire in Colorado Springs [Video]

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – Crews in Colorado Springs were called to a trash truck fire on Thursday.

At about 10:15 a.m. the department posted to social media that they were called to the fire at Meadowland Boulevard and Montebello Drive. The neighborhood is north of where N. Academy Boulevard meets Austin Bluffs Parkway.

Photos shared on social media appear to show the trash truck had dumped its load in a parking lot where firefighters hosed it down with water. A video showcased a lot of smoke at one point.

“Fire is knocked down. Hazmat 14 is on scene monitoring air quality in the area. No hazards have been detected,” the department added to social media.

No injuries were reported.
