Both vehicles caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames, the sheriff’s office said.
LITCHFIELD, Maine — A motorcyclist from Turner died in a crash with a pickup truck in Litchfield on Sunday.
It happened shortly before 9 a.m. in the area of 435 Richmond Road, the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office said Monday in a press release.
Jon W. Devoe, 29, died at the scene, the release stated.
Devoe and his motorcycle ended up underneath the truck, and Devoe was pulled out from beneath the truck by some bystanders, according to the sheriff’s office. Shortly after that, both vehicles caught fire and became fully engulfed in flames, the release stated.
The driver of the truck, Ryan Gibson, 34, of Bowdoin, was able to exit the truck with the help of a passerby, according to the release.
