Coweta County residents asked to conserve water amid unprecedented high demand [Video]

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Coweta County officials are asking residents to conserve water amid “unprecedented high demand.”

In a social media post Wednesday, the Coweta County Water and Sewerage Authority (CCWSA) urged residents to cut back on their water use so they won’t strain the county’s water system.

“We are currently experiencing an unprecedented high demand for water in our service area,” the utility company said in the post. “We are asking for the community’s help to conserve water over the next several days to reduce the strain on the Authority’s water system, storage tanks, and reservoir.”

The announcement comes during a heat wave scorching Georgia and the rest of the Southeast.

CCWSA offered these tips on conserving water:

  • Reducing or eliminating irrigation activities
  • Taking shorter showers
  • Turning off faucets when not in use
