Cornmarket has become the first insurance broker in Ireland to achieve the Business Working Responsibility Mark.
The Mark, which is managed and awarded by Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI), is the leading standard for sustainability and is awarded to companies that demonstrate a positive company culture of ongoing improvement, increased accountability and a commitment to sustainability.
Achieving the accreditation involved an independent audit by the NSAI that examined Cornmarket’s management systems and achievements across the four sustainability pillars: economic, environmental, social and governance.
Cornmarket had to demonstrate its sustainability initiatives, including its paperless office programme to reduce the usage of ‘paper, print & post’ through technology and digital investment.
The company also installed solar panels at its head office to reduce its carbon footprint, and has started an employee volunteering programme.
