Lily Krueger, a senior at Core Butte Charter, won first place in the Butte County Poetry-Out-Loud competition with powerful recitations, earning the opportunity to represent the county at the state level.
BUTTE COUNTY, Calif – Core Butte Charter School shined bright today, taking first place in the Poetry-Out-Loud competition hosted by the Butte County Office of Education in partnership with Friends of the Arts.
Established in 2006, Poetry-Out-Loud (POL) serves as a creative platform for high school students nationwide to explore and showcase their passion for poetry.
This year’s first-place winner, Lily Krueger, a senior at Core Butte Charter, shared her excitement about taking the top prize:
“I’m really excited! It was an amazing opportunity to put my best forward and do something I really love and am passionate about. It was really fun to see everyone else perform—there were just amazing standouts. Wow, that was amazing!”
